A Morning in the Corniche

I woke up early this morning and decided to take a stroll in the Dammam Corniche.  I was actually planning this a few days back since I wanted to practice using my new toy.  Here are just some of the photos I took.

  1. Looking good! 😉

Especially liked the second shot as well as the one with the dates palm “overflowing” with fruit! Never noticed them – ganoon pala hitsura… galing!

At may sleepy “pusakal” (aka pusang kalye) shot ka pa ha – I like!

See what being alone can do? Keep those creative juices flowing! Miss you! Mwah! 😎

Thanks, Hon. So encouraging. Iba talaga kapag asawa ang nag-comment. Di bale, hopefully, I’ll me able to post more pictures in the next few weeks.

  2. wow, kuya pete, very very nice! my faves are the second shot and the close-up of the pink flower. sige, keep practicing…soon enough, you won’t need to hire professional photographers for events. 🙂

What boredom can do… hehehe! Anyway, I must tell you though that I also had to sharpen some of the shots using Flickr so that also help in giving it a more professional look.

I also like the close-up ng flower. Why don’t you also take pictures while you are still job hunting?

  3. Keith, hanep sa shots! Ang galing mo so focusing, framing, and composition! Ano po new toy mo?

Pinky bought me a Panasonic Lumix FZ18, which per Meeya, is still classified as a point and shoot. Excited ako to use it because it has many different features, which I am still studying to use. Hopefully, when I get a hang of photography, I can move onto a DSLR (and buy different kinds of lenses like you).

the best shot for me eh yung closeup ng periwinkle.
    God bless!

Salamat, Bro Utoy. Oo gamit ko yung bago kung laruan. Surprisingly, malinis dito sa KSA. I actually thought before I came here na madumi dito but apparently I was mistaken. I just went there early in the morning kaya mukhang walang tao. Hindi usually ganito.

The building is a wind tower, which is like the airconditioning of the old arab houses. The cold air goes into these towers and circulates all over the house.

  5. wow buti pa kayo naunahan nyo ako makakuha ng new toy ,, hay ako kaya kelan..

Dito wala.

  7. Great fotos Keith. I can see you’re really enjoying that new camera.

I also like the close up of the flower. The one after it is interesting too. The small palms actually appear to be dancers doing an interpretative dance.

    Give me more! 🙂

Thanks so much, Goyo. Yes, I am enjoying tickering with the features of the camera although, most often than not, I get too overwhelmed.

  8. Love how you can see the sand at the base of the lamp-post. Also, that sleepy cat obviously owns the park so: beware trespassers!

Lovely pictures! Never thought Panasonic was a good brand for cameras. (Or maybe I just never connect their brand to cameras in my head.)

Lionel, I also like that sand on the lamp post.

To be honest, I also did not think of Panasonic as a good brand. I am more a Sony person, like all of us Pinoys. So far, I am happy naman with the features of this camera.

  9. nice set of pics you got, linis ng kuha… Lumix has a very nice review also, you got a nice cam there… shoot lang ng shoot… 🙂

Salamat, Lino. It is so nice to hear positive comments from all my blogging buds.

😛 hee hee.

I took this around 8am to avoid meeting too much people. The very conservative locals kasi might get offended if I take pictures in public.

  13. hi keith, agree ako kay thess, your framing and composition are wonderful. 🙂 yung first shot mo napabilib mo ako, naks! kasi ako i can NOT take pictures na level yung horizon. lahat ng pics ko ng landscape tabingi (at kailangan pang i-photoshop ni asawa para umayos, haha).

i also love the pic of the palms, the fifth one, ganda ng framing. tip, dagdag ng konting bokeh para mas dramatic. *wink*

    palakpakan for keith! yey!

Meeya, it is really so encouraging to read positive comments from all of you. I seriously just point and shoot with out really thinking of all the technical stuff. I hope that is a good sign, though.

I read about bokeh in Lino’s site. I am not sure how to do it, though. Di ba parang malabo yung background noon di ba? Well, I think I have to tinker with my camera more.
