Riyadh Update

Our unplanned trip to Riyadh today was postponed since Luigi is still sick and since we were informed by the Embassy that their passport supplies have not yet arrived from the Philippines due to the Easter holidays.  Hopefully, they expect the booklets to come in by next week.

Unfortunately, we were also advised by the Embassy to go during the middle of the week to ensure that their supply has not yet been depleted.  Apparently, they only receive 600 booklets per week from the Central Bank of the Philippines and these are usually gone before the week ends.  Since I can not go on leave for a long time, Pinky and I are seriously considering whether a 4 hour trip (one-way) to the capital is worth it especially for an overnight stay.  Hmm, may be not if we have to bring our 3 kids, which is obviously our situation.

In short, if the supplies come in next week, I may go to Riyadh on my own.  Alternatively, we are thinking of whether we can have our passports renewed through the Philippine Embassy in our neighboring, Bahrain.  We are hoping that that option would be possible given that it will definitely be more convenient and cheaper for us.

Anyway, I will make sure to keep you guys posted on any developments.  In the mean time, please pray for Luigi’s quick recovery. Thanks!

  1. now isn’t that a bummer? that happened to me, too, here at the sfo consulate. naubusan raw! now what am i to do, dba? anyhow, buti nalang at di emergency so i was willing to wait.

so sorry to hear about luigi, hope he feels better soon 😉

Nell, I’m going to Bahrain tomorrow to have our passports renewed. At least we found out that they don’t have any supply problem (yun nga lang the passports they have are the old ones pa). Anyway, I need to have ours renewed asap since halos ubos na yung mga pages ng sa amin since everytime we cross to Bahrain the immigration stamps everywhere. Grrr.

Luigi is still on medication. Hopefully, he should be better in the next few days. Thanks for asking about him.

  2. isa po akong nanay na nagdarasal na gumaling nawa ang iyong anak! mamaya ulit bago ako matulog eh ipapanalangin namin mag asawa si luigi! mahirap pag me sakit ang anak!
btw, i scrolled down and i saw the pearl farm pic. love it! naalala ko ang aking single days..i was with my girlfriends when we went to pearl farm! brought back memries!:)

Dang, thanks so much for offering Luigi in your prayers. It is really so hard when anyone in the family gets sick. Pinky and I really go insane everytime this happens so your prayers really mean a lot to us.

Oh, you should go back to the Pearl Farm with your hubby. It is really a beautiful place. Make sure to include that in your itinerary the next time you are back in the Philippines.

By the way, thanks for dropping by and leaving a note 🙂

  3. i have luigi in my prayers. 🙂

naku good luck on your passport expedition, sana naman worth it yung pag-drive mo. 🙂

Thanks, Meeya. I won’t be pushing through with Riyadh sincxe I got our passports renewed already. I’ll post about it.

  4. keith, i hope matapos na ang passport woes niyo. 🙂 i hope luigi has fully recovered by now.

at para hindi ka mainggit kay pinky, pinasalubungan din kita ng tag. 😛 huwag kayong magkopyahan ha. 😉

Weng… everything is a-ok now. Finally, got it renewed and Luigi is feeling much better now.

I’ll work on the tag soon before Pinky beats me to the draw.
