No Longer Alone

The wife of a Pinoy colleague of mine from another bank here in the KSA is due to arrive tonight for a short vacation.  I look forward to her arrival even though I have not met her in person.

In the two years that I have been here, I learned that God can turn situations in our life which look seemingly hopeless to us into something that is not.  My intial traumatic experience of feeling alone in this unusual place has now been replaced by a feeling of comfort for having family and friends close by.

From only two Pinoys when we started, our Filipino community has now slowly grown to a good number of close friends and acquaintances – be it in the same industry where I work or otherwise, our Sunday Friday community in Aramco or even in our favorite Pinoy hang-out place, Ramaniyah Mall.

God definitely works wonders in our lives.  All you have to do is trust in Him and wait.

  1. “God definitely works wonders in our lives. All you have to do is trust in Him and wait.” I couldn’t agree more. 😉

  2. Yup, very true…though there are days when I need more positive energy than usual to realize and be appreciative of our blessings.

Di bale, Hon, we all have our moments.

  3. same here. it was only hubby, me, and ninna when we moved here, pero after a few years we’ve amassed a number of new friends whom we consider our family here na and who help make living here more than merely bearable. 🙂

i think God really finds a way to send angels to us when we feel most alone. si adam nga binigyan Niya ng eve, di iba? 😀

I so agree with you, Meeya. A lot of times we get so affected by the many changes in our lives. However, God always has a way to make things better. Angels are everywhere. Adam and Eve… what at analogy… did not think of that. Galing mo talaga 🙂
