Disney’s Enchanted

Our friend, Raffy, who is based in Riyadh came over for the weekend.  He actually had a client call last Wednesday but decided to stay a few days longer to enjoy the special “perks” of living in the Kingdom’s Eastern Region.

We were unable to go to the beach due to the cold weather and time constraint.  However, we decided to just cross over to Bahrain to unwind.  Of course, being the eligible bachelor that he is, our wholesome family gimmicks did not appeal too much to him (and my other colleague, Ton).  So, instead of forcing oil and water to mix, we decided to just separate and all have a good time.

Sweeney Todd was showing that day and, despite the strong urge to leave my whole family behind to watch what I wanted, I decided to join them in watching Disney’s Enchanted.

My sis-in-law, Millie, mentioned this show to us when we were in Manila last December.  She said it was very nice and entertaining.  The mix of animation and reality, a good storyline and funny musical score is definitely the perfect combination for a sure hit that both kids and adult will enjoy. You must hand it to Disney – they really know how to entertain people.

Anyway, in case you have not seen it yet, this show is a must see for the whole family.  The Sy family gives this movie a “two thumbs up!” or, more appropriately, a “ten thumbs up!”  Who else can beat that?!

  1. what a wonderful treat for the kids. our nicho here would love that, too. but there isn’t one here in our area lately. lapit lang pala kayo sa bahrain 😉

Nell, I’m sure the movie must be in DVDs now in the US. If you can buy or borrow it, I’m sure Nicho will enjoy it a lot. It really is a fun movie.

Yup, Bahrain is like 1.5 hours away from where we live.

  2. Yup – absolutely loved it! 😀

  3. hindi pa rin namin napapanood yan. puro cuties pa naman ang mga male leads. 🙂 ang mahal kasi ng sine dito! 🙂 siguro pag nakabakasyon kami sa manila, araw araw ako sa sinehan. hahaha! 😀

Weng go watch it on DVD. Abby will love it – ewan ko lang kung ang gusto niya doon ay ang mga male leads. Baka ikaw ang mag-enjoy sa part na yon 🙂

  4. we had the opportunity to watch the premier of that for free (courtesy of ninna’s little gym). medyo hindi ko masyadong na-enjoy because my ninna (who’d rather watch Cars rather than princesses) was being makulit out of boredom (i guess). i did get to enjoy ogling patrick dempsey, hehe.

i appreciated the message of the movie, though – that women are smart and brave and are no longer the damsels in distress they once were as depicted in “traditional” fairy tales. very empowering. 🙂 glad you all enjoyed it! 🙂

Too bad. Anyway, you know naman how kids nowadays have so much varying interest. It is so nice to know that your little girl is also trying to go against the stereotype that little girls should like stories about Princesses (even the non-traditional ones). Buti na lang nasa Flordia kayo… malapit sa mga car racing!
