Documentary: Isang Linggo sa Jeddah

My cousins, Ge and Rinel, and their son, Ira, are on their way to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to finally relocate here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Dammam). I’m sure they are feeling so much anxiety right now – something, my family and I (and the so many Pinoys who have left our beautiful country to live and work here in the Kingdom) experienced when we did our own exodus. I’m sure their families and friends back home also feel worried and concerned about this move, something I would have also probably felt if I were back home.

I guess that is why I think it is very appropriate for me to post this new documentary I found on YouTube (again made by Jing Villareal, from my previous Bahrain documentary). The short film mirrors the sentiments of most, if not all, of the Filipinos who left the Philippines to move here in the Kingdom.

I hope this will help our families back home understand what we are going through and to give them more comfort knowing that we are all okay.

  1. The only thing not applicable to us would be the part where the consul says most Pinoys save 70-90% of their income here – waaah!!! Otherwise, agree ako 🙂 Too bad putol yung ending… Nevertheless, very realistic and optimistic view of the Kingdom! Wala bang docu on Dammam? More docus to come!

  2. Correeeect! Hmmm…I’ll have to do more research.
